• Guasacaca (M. Toro)
Guasacaca is a traditional Venezuelan sauce. Composition is inspired by the Afro-Venezuelan music around the coast of Venezuela like Sangueo, Tamborito, Tamborera, Gaita Zuliana, Tambor Mina, Tambores de San Millan, Malembe, Tambor Quichimba, Parranda, Tambor de Guatire & Chimbangle.

• Tun Tun (Van Merwijk/Viloria)
This is a Boogaloo, or a ‘Latin Soul groove’ and is featuring Drums United’s studio and live soundtechnician and percussionist Juan
‘Bulu’ Viloria on the conga’s in descarga with Lucas on the timbales. Instruments: conga’s, timbales, drumset and various latin percussion instruments. Vocals Gianna Tam, programming Lucas van Merwijk.

• Tavilar (Mussawisadeh)
a mix of north indian bhangra, light-classical music and south Indian karnatic music. Instruments: tavil and kanjira, which are South-Indian instruments and samples and drumset

• Ginga (S. Sou)
Composition in the Brazilian rhythmical genre called samba batucada. Instruments: Tambourins, Cuica, Repinique, Conga, Agogo, Apito, Surdos, drumset.

• Dokuz Sekiz (A. Kekeç)
Dokuz Sekiz means 9/8. This is the one of the popular gypsy dance beats in East Europa and Anatolia. They say that mentioning the words ‘Dokuz Seki’ alone will be enough to have anyone in that area start
to dance already. Instruments: darbuka, drumset, tom/snare setups, Taiko drums.

• Deggo (Mbaye)
The national drum of Senegal is the sabar drum. Deggo, which means meeting or gathering in the Wolof language, is a composition based on the unique Senegalese Mbalax rhythm and was written by Mousé Pathé from Dakar. Instruments: sabar, drumset, tom/snare set ups, Taiko drums, vocals, samples.

• Cajon (X. Turull)
Composition for cajón in buleria rhythm (12/8) by the great Xavi Turull of the famous Spanish group Ojos de Brujo.

• Seven Hills (Van Merwijk/Holzner/M. Ahmed)
A piece in 9/4 composed in the period Lucas van Merwijk spent some
time in Istanbul with the great Darbuka pioneer Misirli Ahmed. Misirli performed some shows with the band in The Netherlands and Turkey and this composition was named after Istanbul, the city on the seven hills. On this recording it features Alper Kekeç on the darbuka. Instruments: darbuka, drumset, tom/snare setups, Taiko drums, samples by Mathias Holzner.

• Treme Terra (S. Sou)
Composition in the rhythmical genre called Aguere. ‘Toque’ (pattern) played to Iansa, goddess of the wind and storm in Afro-Brazilan mythology. Instruments: berimbau, meditation bowl, pans, repinique, surdo. Vocals Simone Sou.
Lyrics: Vento forte bateu, foi Iansa que chegou
Ventania chamou Xango!
Iansa recebeu os trovoes de Xango
Na pedreira tocou tambor!

• Belwela (Mussawisadeh)
Composition inspired by north-African music. Instruments: krakabs, bendirs, tom-snare, drumset and samples.

Composition in the rhythmical genre called Coco de Embolada from the northeast of Brazil with Brazilian rap by Simone Sou. Instruments: Pandeiro, snare/floortom, ganza, triangle, agogo, drumset.

• Reina Pepiada (Toro)
The title of this piece comes from a traditional Venezuelan dish
which makes food and music the best combination. Inspired by the Afro-Venezuelan music around the coast of Venezuela like Sangueo, Tamborito, Tamborera, Gaita Zuliana, Tambor Mina, Tambores de San Millan, Malembe, Tambor Quichimba, Parranda, Tambor de Guatire & Chimbangle. Instruments: tambor campana, drumset, tamborins.

• Remembering BCM (Mussawisadeh)
Composition inspired by karnatic rhytmical composition concepts. Instruments are kanjira, conga’s, darbuka, drumset samples and percussion.

• Latora4Brazos (Van Merwijk)
This world trance dance composition is a typical Drums United piece mixing African, Latin and oriental percussion instruments. It was named after the famous underground nightclub Latora4Brazos in Bogota, Colombia. Instruments: sabar, drumset, tom/snare set ups, Taiko drums, tambor campana, darbuka, vocals, cuica, shakers, samples, brazilian timbal, timbales. Vocals: Gianna Tam. Programming: Lucas van Merwijk.
